Tips for a True Beauty Sleep

2 min read

Beauty Sleep. Yes – it is real! Both the quality and quantity of sleep affect how you feel and look the following day. This makes it so important that each and EVERY night you are getting the proper rest you need. To ensure this is happening, we’ve come up with a list of tips to help you get a true “beauty sleep.

Daytime Habits

Your activities during the day will affect the quality of sleep you have at night. Come bed time, a day’s worth of healthy eating and drinking, combined with physical activity, will have your body feeling good and relaxed. Electing to eat greasy foods that your body needs to break down, or consume drinks that are sugary or caffeinated, especially if close to bed time, will not put your body at-ease. Additionally, make sure to stay active. Do you find yourself having long days of running errands, or partaking in strenuous physical activity, and all you want to do is plop in bed and fall asleep? This is good! This activity that causes you to be tired is actually doing your body good and ensuring you are going to rest well at night!

Bedroom Atmosphere

Can you spot your clothes in just about every corner of your room? Like your mother has always told you – “Clean up that messy room!” A messy atmosphere isn’t going to help you relax and get your beauty sleep. In order for your body to be at-ease, you have to create a zen-like atmosphere in your bedroom

Turn Off the Technology

Cell phones, computers, television, etc. – Shut down, turn off, and put away! Do not keep them going all at once right before bed! Say good night to the world, and give yourself some you time to relax and unwind about an hour before you fall asleep. This gives your mind time to relax, so you won’t be tossing, turning and getting an anxious night’s sleep!

Right Before Bed

If you want to wake up feeling and looking your best, you must get into a nighttime routine and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night! It is so important to make a routine of putting yourself to bed by a certain time each and every night. Even relax and unwind by creating an anti-stress bath at home! Of course, before bed, brush your teeth, and make sure to cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin. Especially target your under eye area, by applying an eye cream to reduce lines, wrinkles, puffiness, and avoid those unwanted dark circles in the morning! Give your eyes a little extra cooling relief in the morning to reduce that puffiness, and use Eye Rescue Pads. Put them in the refrigerator and apply them in the morning to cool your eyes and give them a refreshing awakening!

So remember, don’t skip out on your zzz’s, and follow these simple tips. You’ll see and feel what a difference it will make!
