Valentine’s Day is all about love! We give love to others with kisses, candy, and flowers, but are you showing yourself love, specifically, your skin? In the name of love, here are some tips on how you can show your skin some love today, and everyday of the year!

L – Latheryour skin with “quality.” We know there are so many products to choose from when it comes to skincare. However, how many of those products can you guarantee have natural and quality ingredients? Just as we are selective when it comes to choosing our food, and what goes in our body, we should be selective with what goes on our body. For example, when cleansing your body each day in the shower, do you pay attention to the ingredients in your shower gel – does it contain simple, natural ingredients, like seaweed, grapefruit oil, or spearmint, peppermint, and corn mint oil, found in our Vita Cura® Triple Action Shower and Bath Gel. Remember, our skin is what makes us; it is our exterior, and the largest organ of our body. Don’t sacrifice quality when it comes to your skin!

O – Oils. Natural essential oils are so underrated. From muscle soothing, antiseptic and even skin tightening benefits, essential oils are more than just aromatherapy (although yes, they are that too). Try adding Essential Oil of Peppermint or Purifying and Calming Essential Oils, to your daily application of Seaweed Body Cream. Give yourself an aromatherapy massage, and feel your skin and muscles soothed!

V- Vitamins. You’ve been told how important it is to get our daily dosage of vitamins for your insides, but what about your outside? Vitamins are overall excellent for your skin. For example, Vitamin A, found in our Opti-Firm® collection, is known for its anti-aging benefits to help stimulate skin repair, increase collagen production, increase skin thickness and improve elasticity while improving skin tone and texture. Vitamin B12, helps cell proliferation and renewal, while Vitamin E helps lock in moisture, and Vitamin C has anti-aging benefits. One way that you can encompass these vitamins into your skincare is seaweed. Seaweeds like Laminiaria Digitata and Ascophyllum Nodosum are naturally rich in 12 vitamins and minerals, including B12, C, E, K and Beta Carotene, along with 18 amino acids, and 42 trace elements! Hence why it is our number one ingredient!

E- Exfoliate. You may properly cleanse, tone, and moisturize each day, but how often are you exfoliating? Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, stimulates collagen production, and builds the skin’s elasticity. When your skin is exfoliated, it is forced to create new skin cells, making your skin younger, healthier, and fresher looking. For a mild exfoliation, try using a gentle exfoliator, such as Honey and Almond Scrub, 2-3 times a week. Honey, almond, and oatmeal, help get rid of the dead skin cells, while still leaving the skin clean and soothed. If you tend to get pimples and break out from time to time, check out our tips for exfoliation here: Exfoliating Acne and Problem Skin.
