With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, it’s time to go green! Shamrocks and leprechaun hats are nice for some – but if green face paint isn’t your thing – we have a new way to wear green this year!
We love all types of seaweed for their protein-rich, hydrating, and nourishing properties, but one green seaweed in particular, has amazing anti-aging properties. This is why Ulva Lactuca seaweed is added to our restorative night cream, Opti-Firm Renewal Complex. Ulva Lactuca helps to firm the skin, and diminish the looks of lines and wrinkles. As a source of Marine Elastin Protein, Ulva Lactuca helps to repair your skin, and to prevent the breakdown of elastin. It also helps to stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers, which is what will help your skin appear more youthful!
We drink green tea for it’s amazing benefits, but what about using it on our skin? Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, green tea can be a great skincare ingredient. If you’re lacking in zzz’s, and you start to see that puffiness around the eye area, green tea can be a life saver! For this reason, green tea extract is the core of our Repêchage Eye Rescue Pads. If you’re celebrating for Saint Patty’s Day, apply these tea infused pads the next morning for an instant eye refresher! Additionally, green tea is a natural anti-oxidant that helps protects your skin against free radical damage, such as damage from UV rays.
Lastly, when we think the sun and skincare, one green ingredient comes to mind: aloe. This well-known green desert plant is known for the gel inside of it’s succulent leaves. Given it’s anti-inflammatory, soothing, and healing properties, we’ve recently added it to our Algo Mist Hydrating Seaweed Facial Spray. If you’re skin has had a little too much sun, aloe will be your go-to green ingredient to cool down and hydrate your skin!
