Trick or Treat! Halloween's almost here, and with the crazy makeup, bobbing for apples, and late hours that come along with this festive night, we wanted to share some tips with you to make sure you’re treating your skin right!
Choose the right makeup – We know that to create a spooky look, putting on face paint from your Halloween store may be the most tempting option. However, the best way to treat your skin is to avoid any type of pore-clogging makeup and face paints! Instead opt for non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging) makeup. Be dramatic with the colors for your eyes, lips, and even shade of foundation, powders, or blushes. A little creativity with skin-friendly makeup can help you achieve the look you are trying to obtain, minus the breakouts.
Remove your makeup before bed – If you still choose to use pore-clogging Halloween makeup despite our recommendation not to, at least promise us you will make sure to remove it at the end of the night! Do not make the mistake of putting your head on the pillow and falling asleep without cleansing your face. For the sake of your pillow and your skin, hit the bathroom, wash your face with an appropriate cleanser, and then make sure to get your beauty sleep!
FACE MASK after the face mask – If you get in too late the night of Halloween, make sure to pop on a face mask (the exfoliating kind!) the next morning. Even if you don’t have acne, our Hydra Medic Sea Mud Perfecting Mask is a great mask to give your skin a deep-pore cleanse the day after Halloween festivities. This will really help to rid your skin of dirt and that Halloween makeup build up from the night before. Watch Hocus Pocus (again!), plop on the couch, and put your mask on for 15 minutes to purify and rejuvenate your post-Halloween skin!
